Rome
is for me a city of naked stones and unimaginably rich churches. It is a city of the sun and fountains, where the constant feeling you’re sooo full will not cause you any uneasy conscience or a sense of getting bigger and bigger because the enormous dose of history surrounding you and the meters of extremely high floors of the old tenements will make you always feel almost tiny.
It is a huge city which has been hosting another, much more powerful and dripping state for centuries now. At the same time, a city which - if you look closely - can surprise you at any corner. The multitude of attractions it serves causes that everyone who comes here quickly realizes that to get to know the city one should live here or at least plan a series of journeys over a few years at least.
Rome
for me is also a place of deserted mornings and crowded evenings (but more on that in the next episode).
Rzym
to dla mnie miasto nagich torsów, niewyobrażalnie bogatych kościołów, miasto słońca i fontann, gdzie nieustannie towarzyszące uczucie sytości nie wywoła w tobie wyrzutów sumienia ani poczucia przybierania bo ogrom otaczającej cię historii i metry kondygnacji dostojnych kamienic sprawiają, że i tak zawsze będziesz się czuł wręcz malutki.
Jest to olbrzymie miasto, które od wieków gości inne, znacznie potężniejsze i ociekające złotem państwo. Jednocześnie miasto, które - o ile uważnie się przyglądasz - potrafi zaskoczyć. Mnogość bodźców jakie serwuje sprawia, że każdy kto tu przyjeżdża bardzo szybko uświadamia sobie, że aby je poznać należałoby tu zamieszkać albo przynajmniej rozplanować szereg podróży na przestrzeni co najmniej kilku lat.
Rzym
to także opustoszałe poranki i tłoczne wieczory (ale o tym wkrótce).
We had 5 days. This is actually 5 more than we had last year ;) We spent them on ... walking, walking and walking - and longing for the youngest, with whom, as you can see, our thoughts remained ;)

Mieliśmy 5 dni. To o 5 więcej niż w zeszłym roku ;)) Spędziliśmy je na...spacerach, spacerach i spacerach - i tęsknocie za najmłodszymi, z którymi jak widać nieustannie pozostawały nasze myśli ;)
